About Us

Our Story

During the lockdown of 2020 I was required to work from home and set up a small office in the loft of our house. Like so many others it was a time to reflect on what was important and what really makes me tick. Having worked my entire career in design and buying for several large companies I've been lucky enough to travel the world and build strong relations and friendships with suppliers and factories in many countries. I knew my passion for product was key. I love fabrics, colour, print and the attention to detail required in designing clothes and how they make you feel.

It's really important that when you lounge in Lazy Loft you feel luxurious and special. Our women's Modal pyjamas, and other great designs are perfect for chilling at home, weekends away, answering the door for deliveries and obviously for all those pyjama parties!

Support Team

My husband Nick has also worked his entire career in retail, finance and operations so it felt natural to combine our skills. Our children are now a little more independent, so the time was right to develop a brand that really reflects our personality.

Sophie our daughter, age 14, has a very honest opinion on design and is a reluctant fit model when required. Ollie our son, age 12, is a whizz on computers, and helps his creative mother, who prefers a pen and paper! Coco the cat lazes at my feet in the loft when I work.

Together, we have combined these skill-sets creating a range of women's printed nightwear and beautiful leather slippers.

From these humble beginnings, Lazy Loft was born in 2022.

Ethical Stance

We are a new and small business, but we know that even we can make a difference to all our futures. Our core value is to treat others as we want to be treated, with honesty, fairness and understanding the impact we make. We know we aren't perfect but we strive to uphold these values and work to a better future.

Everyone involved in the creation, production and delivery of our products deserves to be treated fairly. Every supplier we partner has to have policies and procedures in place to ensure a fair wage, good working conditions and not employ forced or child labour.

Sustainable Future

We want to be as kind to our planet as we can. With our women's Modal pyjamas we use 100% Modal fabric which is made from natural, renewable raw materials which are considered to be more eco-friendly than cotton using considerably less water in its production. We use recycled plastics wherever possible e.g., in our buttons, ribbons and packaging.

Design at Lazy Loft is not just wanting our nightwear and leather slippers to look and feel great. We also want to be conscious in our design to have quality of make and materials that will last so you will want to wear them for many years to come

Fabric

The fabric we sourced for our nightwear was our key starting point. It had to have a beautiful soft and silky feel, take print design well, have a good drape, be breathable, and be sustainably sourced. For this reason, we chose Modal.

Modal is a luxury fabric and has an incredible soft touch, a beautiful drape and is 50% more absorbent than cotton. Micropores inside the fabric absorb any water or sweat they come in contact with.

All our Modal fabric is made by Lenzing who produce their fabric from natural and renewable raw materials.

Modal fabric is a bio-based fabric, which is made from reconstituted beech tree cellulose. Modal is generally considered a more eco-friendly alternative to cotton because beech trees don't require much water to grow and therefore the production process uses about 10-20 times less water. Lenzing only derives its cellulose from sustainably harvested forests that are certified by the PEFC (Programme for The Endorsement of Forest Certification).

Our buttons have been developed and produced in India using recycled plastic.

All garments ready for despatch from the factory are packaged in polythene bags made from recycled materials.

The garment factory we work with in India is BSCI audited (Business social compliance initiative) and ensures all employees are fairly treated.
